Madhya Pradesh: 1 Dead, Another Seriously Injured In Khargone's Road Accident | FP Photo KHARGONE (MADHYA PRADESH): A 25-year-old man was killed and one other sustained grievous
injuries after their car rammed into a truck on Khandwa-Baroda State Highway on Sunday, a police official said. As per reports, Khandwa-Baroda State highway is a crucial road connecting two
states but notorious for its poor conditions as it lacks information board and indicators. The accident resulted in the death of Ayush Malviya, a 25-year-old resident of Sendhwa and left
Chetan Rathore (24) seriously injured. The incident took place near Sainath Petrol Pump, where a high-speed car lost control while navigating a curved turn. It collided head-on with a truck,
causing catastrophic damage to the front of the vehicle. The tragic event is not an isolated case; just recently, a bus overturned on the same highway, claiming lives of four and injuring
21 others. Despite repeated accidents, accountability seems to be lacking, with local authorities merely conducting formal inquiries without implementing substantial changes. Several factors
contribute to the alarming rate of accidents on this highway. Open sale of liquor at nearby dhabas is increasingly being recognised as a significant issue. This raises concerns about the
influence of alcohol on the behaviour of drivers and road safety. The absence of basic safety features such as information boards, indicators and white stripe at curved turns exacerbates the
risk for drivers. Shubh Pandey, Project In-charge MPRDC, stated, ‘Boards were installed on the curved culvert a few days ago. The work was ongoing but has been delayed due to the motor
being out of order. Completion is expected soon.’ Bhojmar Parmar, Outpost In-charge, Segaon criticised road contractor's negligence.
