Passengers will be able to see highlights from the largest privately owned Marilyn Monroe collection of film costumes, personal gowns, jewellery, original photographs, film posters and

personal items owned by the Hollywood film star.  It is the most substantial Marilyn Monroe archive in existence and passengers on the August 9-12 Transatlantic Crossing will have an

exclusive opportunity to bid on some items in advance of an auction in November. David Gainsborough-Roberts' renowned Marilyn Monroe Collection will come under the hammer of celebrity

auction house Julien's Auctions.  "For as long as I can remember, Marilyn has been a part of my life and over many years I have built up my own private Marilyn Collection,"

said David Gainsborough Roberts, owner of the largest private collection of Monroe's dresses.  "It is now time for me to share this with the world, which I am proud to dedicate to

her name on this year of her 90th Birthday Anniversary."  During the eight-night Transatlantic Crossing from New York to Southampton, guests will enjoy a daily, rotating exhibition of

Marilyn Monroe memorabilia. There will be Q&A sessions with Mr Gainsborough-Robert and with Julien's Auctions founder and CEO Darren Julien and Executive Director Martin Nolan.

Marilyn Monroe fans will have the chance to bid on choice items and passengers can have their photographs taken with famed Monroe impersonator Suzie Kennedy.  Cunard Marketing Director Angus

Struthers said: "The Marilyn Monroe Collection, which is touring the world before the auction in November, offers film costumes from Niagara to Some Like It Hot.  "In all, seven

of Monroe's most notable films are represented with many items created by award-winning designers and well-known Hollywood costumers." Queen Mary 2 will have just come out of her

25-day dry dock "Remastering", with redesigned Princess and Queens Grills staterooms and restaurants, new dining venues and lounges, and an expansion of the only kennels at sea.
