Holidays in 2018 are expected to become more expensive for British travellers thanks to the weaker pound. Whilst great news for UK tourism, as overseas travellers take advantage of the

better exchange rate, it can also mean choosing the best destination to make the pound go further can be tricky. This isn’t the only reason a holiday can get expensive, as additional costs

Britons may not realise can quickly bump the price up. A new study has found that the United States is actually the best value holiday for British travellers for a surprising reason. The

cost of vaccinations for the US is £0, due to not needing a single jab before entering the country. TravelSuperMarket has conducted research to find the potential cost of inoculations when

entering a country. Whilst the US has no travel vaccination costs, it quickly jumps as Canada follows in second place for being the cheapest, costing £165. This is followed by New Zealand

(£205), Samoa (£235) and Vanuatu (£270). Some of the vaccinations that may be needed for countries abroad include Rabies, costing £165, Tetanus, costing £35 and Hepatitis B costing £150. Of

course, many of the vaccinations are only needed if going further afield such as working with animals, doing aid work near areas of infectious disease or involved in outdoor activities.

Therefore destinations such as France, Spain and Italy won’t need any jabs if not backpacking or staying outside of major cities. The same is for Australia and New Zealand. MARTIN LEWIS

longer be providing free prescriptions for some travel-related vaccinations. “As a result, the cost of going away could be set to go up. In some cases, the bill can be quite hefty,

particularly when multiple jabs are required.” Some other cheap holiday destinations for 2018 have also recently been revealed by the Post Office. Bulgaria, Japan and Portugal come out on
