McGregor, 30, will be welcomed back to the Octagon by Nurmagomedov in the main event of UFC 229, which takes place in Las Vegas on October 6.
The Irishman went face-to-face with his successor at the summit of the lightweight division for the first time since hurling a dolly through the window of a bus carrying the Russian, an act
he committed in retaliation to an altercation his foe had with his good friend Artem Lobov, at a press conference at Radio City Music Hall in New York.
The former simultaneous two-weight world champion was fired-up from the outset and repeatedly labelled Nurmagomedov a ‘rat’.
And after the intense media-only press conference, the pair finally squared off with one another.
After initially being separated by UFC president Dana White, McGregor asked to be allowed to get closer to his opponent.
"Come on, I'm not going to touch him, I'm not going to touch him. Let's get face to face, let's get close, look into the eyes,” McGregor said.
A concerned White replied: "Don't touch each other, please.”
Once he got right in the face of the undefeated Nurmagomedov, McGregor said: "You're dead, you're dead, you're dead. I can see blue lips, blue lips."
You're dead, you're dead, you're dead
McGregor then turned his attention to Nurmagomedov’s manager Ali Abdelaziz, who slammed the Irishman for bringing his titles to the press conference when he’s no longer a champion.
“Shut your mouth, Ali Abdelaziz, You terrorist snitch!" he said. "I know a lot about you as well, you mad rat. I know a lot about you as well! You keep your mouth shut kid! Let me take my
picture.
"How’s Noah? How’s Noah? Yeah, shut your mouth! Never speak about me, ever in your life!
"Watch yourself around me, ‘cos you’ll be out of here quick.

"Fool! Don't come at the king, don't ever come at the king!"
McGregor’s labelling of Abdelaziz a ‘terrorist snitch’ was in reference to the Egyptian becoming an FBI informant to aid them in an investigation into the Muslims of America organisation.
And his question to Abdelaziz was a reference to the manager’s son Noah, who he had in a previous relationship and owes thousands of pounds of child support to.
