The chase: bradley walsh shocked as team miss out on £130,000

The 56-year-old revealed to the three-strong team that they could have got a much bigger cash total if only they had taken a gamble and gone with the higher offers from Chaser Anne Hegerty.

He seemed to despair as he told them: “Very good but you could have been playing for £130,000 - £130,000, that is a serious amount of money." “But they’re not!” quipped Anne with a

smile that suggested she was quite pleased that she had stopped them from walking away with some big money. Bradley then added: “Who needs £130,000 when you can get 33.3 per cent of that

instead?” Contestants Laura and Annie both had chances to bag a larger amount of cash in the head-to-head round with The Governess if they had taken the higher offer. Laura would have had

four chances to win £54,000 but chose £4,000, while Annie would have had one shot at £53,000 but went for £7,000. Both decided to play it safe and got back to team with their cash builder

money instead and went through to the final round with fellow player Simon. Luckily, the team were on form and managed to trump quiz brain Anne, 58, and bagged a impressive £14,000 in the

final round between them.  The nail-biting final of the ITV show saw Anne get four questions wrong during the 21-step chase, slowing her down considerably and resulting in her defeat. 

Tonight’s instalment of The Chase comes in sharp contrast to the previous one last week in which a two-person team lost £30,000 after making a series of embarrassing blunders in the final

round.  One in particular stood out as Bradley asked the contestants: "The island of Gran Canaria is part of what country?" Sally-Ann confidently stepped up, hilariously answering
