Strictly Come Dancing fans tuned into BBC One week after week last year to see which steamy and show-stopping routine Ranvir Singh and Giovanni Pernice had up their sleeves. The pair made it
all the way to the semi-final stage before bowing out of the competition and faced their fair share of romance rumours along the way - none more so than from Ranvir’s Good Morning Britain
colleague, Piers Morgan. However, the two reiterated they were just good friends and it’s a bond which has continued post-Strictly according to Giovanni.
Giovanni and Ranvir missed out on a spot in the finale of Strictly 2020 with fellow celebs Jamie Laing, HRVY, Maisie Smith and Bill Bailey making up the final four.
After a series of jaw-dropping dances and flawless performances, it was comedian Bill who ended up lifting the coveted Glitterball Trophy with pro dancer Oti Mabuse.
While their exit caused friction among BBC viewers who believed they deserved a spot in the final, it appears the early exit has done little to dampen Giovanni and Ranvir’s relationship.
And when Alison Hammond quizzed the ballroom professional about their bond on This Morning on Friday, Giovanni was all too happy to confirm they remain close pals.

Giovanni had appeared on the ITV show to take part in its dance-a-long segment along with Strictly judge Craig Revel-Horwood.
But before they could show off their skills, Alison asked if Giovanni was still in contact with Ranvir.
“100 percent,” the Strictly pro replied: “I think Ranvir delivered a very, very good performance every week,
“And I’m sure Craig loved all of them - and yeah, we’re still in touch.”

Giovanni continued to heap the praise on his celebrity dance partner: “She’s a very, very nice lady,
Craig decided to jump in during the interview to deliver his own critique of Ranvir’s time on the show.
“I loved all but one [dance], darling,” he joked. “But her Argentine Tango I thought was absolutely spectacular. Brilliant.”

The pair then got to work with Alison and co-host Dermot O’Leary to bring some cheer to ITV viewers at home as they shared a boogie to Olly Murs track Wrapped Up.
Since Strictly came to an end, Giovanni and Ranvir have had to go their separate ways after having to isolate together for months as the show adhered to coronavirus guidelines.
Giovanni’s appearance on This Morning certainly was a welcome return to screens for a number of Strictly fans.
Taking to Twitter, one said of seeing the dancer: “Giovanni cheering me up on a c**p day [love heart emoji] #ThisMorning.”
A second agreed: “Love seeing my little friend Giovanni on tv [love heart emoji] #ThisMorning.”
“Ahhhhhhhhh #ThisMorning has really cheered me up today,” added a third.
“Love the dancing to finish it all off, thanks @AlisonHammond and @radioleary.”
While a fourth concurred: “@thismorning FABULOUS... Love, love, love the dancing on the show today... really brighten up my morning/afternoon... Make it a regular thing PLEEEEEASE.”
