Celebrity MasterChef judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace were told off by semi-finalist Riyadh Khalaf after he blamed them for sabotaging his dishes before the round had even begun. The
remaining four famous faces were challenged with creating flour plates of two courses each, in an hour and 15 minutes and for the Broadcaster and Internet personality he said the judges had
made it hard “on purpose”. Riyadh, Sir Matthew Pinselt CBE, Crissy Rock and Pete Wicks’ dishes were just going to be eaten by John and Gregg. Two finalists and a previous champion of
Celebrity MasterChef had been invited to try their creations. They had just over an hour to prepare and make everything ready for service, but for Riyadh he said the time allowance wasn’t
long enough. “I’m doing a gorgeous, meaty monkfish with two sauces,” he explained. “One is a citrus, orangey, caramel and the opposing one is a sort of zingy, spicy soy-based chilli

he was creator an “almond friands - which is a French cake”. “It’s the only sweet thing that I’ve ever cooked that wasn’t a disaster,” he laughed off. “The raspberries are for the coulis -
you’re going to love this - it’s going to be a splat on the plate. It’s really dramatic,” the contestant added. “Are you a little bit nervous about this round?” John asked. But what did
John and Gregg think? “Monkfish is cooked nicely in the middle,” John began. “The cauliflower is woody and smokey and I quite like it with the bitter orange sauce and the chilli and soy.
“But the monkfish is fighting with that orange sauce.” “I don’t mind the orange and the soy with the fish funny enough,” Gregg said. “The orange is bitter - and this is the issue with
experimental cooking, it tends to divide the crowd.”
