Lucifer fans are eagerly awaiting the return of the popular series on Netflix later this year. The upcoming final season five will reintroduce Tom Ellis’ British devil into the show after he
has was sent back to Hell in cliffhanger finale to series four. WHAT IS LUCIFER STAR TOM ELLIS’S REAL ACCENT? Fans of the show will be familiar with the smooth-talking Lucifer Morningstar
(played by Tom Ellis). In the series, the character is known for charming suspects and colleagues alike with his way with words. But some viewers are curious whether his accent in the series
is his real one or not. Ellis was born in Cardiff in Wales in 1978 but did not grow up there, moving to Sheffield when he was young. READ MORE: LUCIFER SPIN-OFF SERIES: WILL THERE BE A
SPIN-OFF AFTER FINAL SERIES? Therefore, he does have a similar British accent to the character of Lucifer in the show. However, fans will have noticed his normal accent in interviews is
slightly different to his character’s. Lucifer was originally supposed to American in the programme but Ellis revealed to the Radio Times it did not work for his character. He told the
publication: “I like to think of him as Noel Coward and Mick Jagger’s lovechild – and a sprinkling of Terry Thomas. He told Elle Canada: “Every time I get in an Uber in L.A., they’re like,
‘Oh, great accent. Are you from Australia?’ “I constantly have to repeat myself when I’m in North America because no one understands a word I’m saying. “I’m like, ‘We [British] invented this
language!’” However some fans have even noticed Lucifer’s accent seems to have changed over the years on the show. Posting on Reddit, CrimeFightingDevil wrote: “I’ve been binging the series
on Netflix recently and there seems to be a really noticeable change in Lucifer/Tom Ellis’ accent between the last episode of season two and the first of season three.” User shiasmiles
weighed in on the possible reason for this, adding: “Tom’s Welsh if I’m not mistaken. I think the accent change is partly because of his demographic. “He’s been exposed to a different
culture for so long and it does change one’s accent.” However a third named Vullein070 disagreed, writing: “I haven’t noticed any accent change?” Fans will be eager to see (and hear) more of
the character when he returns in the show’s fifth and final series. _LUCIFER SEASON 5 IS EXPECTED TO BE RELEASED ON NETFLIX IN 2020._
