The Labour leadership hopeful claimed her party's mistake at the latest election was that of announcing too many policies at once, confusing voters on the party's priorities and

long-term plans. She said: “I think what we saw in this election was a lot of confusion, we were announcing policies every day and even myself as a shadow cabinet member found it quite

difficult to keep up with the number of things that were being announced.” But BBC Breakfast host Naga Munchetty immediately lashed out at the Labour leadership candidate, pointing out she

was a crucial part of the failing team.  The BBC host blasted: “What I find confusing is that by your own admission, you were part of the team helping make policies. “And helping with the

message. So you got this wrong. “You got the strategy wrong.” As Ms Long-Bailey argued she “wasn’t delivery the election strategy” and defended Labour’s nationalisation plans on

well together. She has done the most to develop our trade union policies.” In a swipe to other candidates in the race - due to end in April when the new leader of the party will be announced

- he added Ms Long-Bailey had been “steadfast” during the failed coup by Labour MPs in 2016. Though Mr Corbyn’s aides said the outgoing leader had not intended to have spoken at the event

in an “inclusive way”.
