Clinton has reportedly asked her former aides to meet with outside strategists and consultant to identify the key elements that cost her the presidency. Following Donald Trump’s historical
win, Democrats claimed Russian hackers and FBI Director James Comey had helped the billionaire win. According to Clinton aides, Mr Comey’s announcement that the FBI had reopened their
investigation into her private emails had cost her important votes. While the outlook has not reportedly changed, according to a source of TheHill.com, the former Secretary of State had been
reaching out to donors, associates and friends to get their views on her loss. The latest meeting is said to have been “an attempt to dot all the i's and cross all the t’s”. The source
added: “But I don’t think anyone learned all that much.” Another ally said: “It wasn’t fun for the people who had to sit through it.” According to audio obtained by the New York Times
Clinton previously told donors that Russian President Vladimir Putin had caused further outrage towards her campaign. In the audio clip, she allegedly said: “Putin publicly blamed me for the
outpouring of outrage by his own people… that is the direct line between what he said back then and what he did in this election.” Clinton is said to be not be obsessing about the loss
according to another source, and is much better than two months ago when she is said to have struggled with the defeat. But the former First Lady has taken to Twitter to hit out at the Trump
administration on a number occasions. In one tweet, last month, she wrote: “With threat and hate crimes on rise, we shouldn’t have to tell POTUS [President of the United States] to do his
part[sic].” While in another tweet some people allege she was taunting Trump with “3-0” after the appeals court refused to reinstate the President’s immigration ban. Lyn de Rothchild, a
donor and friend of Clinton, has instead blamed the Democrat’s former campaign chairman John Podesta. Ms Rothschild tweeted at Mr Podesta: “HRC [Clinton] lost because you ran an arrogant out
of touch campaign; you have destroyed a great family and are a loser.” The meeting was reportedly similar to one conducted after Clinton's lost to Barack Obama during the Democratic
primary in the lead up to the 2008 election.
