Quizzed about her pledge to restore France's sovereignty, the anti-immigration politician said Brexit "puts an end to the delirium of Mr [Jean-Claude] Juncker when he said that
there could be no democratic choice against European treaties”. She told the LBC host: "Great Britain has demonstrated that there is a democratic choice and I believe that the way in
which parliament respects the will of the British people is quite remarkable and honourable. "I say this quite easily because in 2005, the French said no to the draft constitution in
the referendum and left and right leaders joined forces to deny the popular will. "So this is a signal conveyed by Britain to all the peoples who wish to restore sovereignty and
freedom. "And in spite of the threats, in spite of the blackmail, the leaders are sticking to the will of the people." On Tuesday, Ms Le Pen launched an attack on uncontrolled
immigration saying it had pushed France to the verge of a “civil war”. She also claimed the country’s “virtually non-existent” immigration policies were to blame for the never-ending refugee
crisis; and that illegals had been pouring into France undeterred for “decades”. Ms Le Pen said: “Our lax – or should I say non-existent – immigration policies are the root cause of the
migrant crisis. “Officials have turned a blind eye to illegal immigration for more than 40 years, and have let millions of paperless migrants into the country. The situation is spiralling
out of control, and things can only get worse.”
