Bride slammed after accusing her sister of getting pregnant for 'attention'

A woman has been branded extremely self-centred after accusing her own sister of intentionally getting pregnant to draw attention away from her own wedding day. The woman, whose identity was

kept private, expressed her worries on Facebook but eventually took the post down. She sought validation by questioning whether her reaction was exaggerated when she refused to change the

wedding date upon learning that her sister, who also held the role of maid of honour, was expecting a child. When the post was uploaded on Reddit in a thread titled "Wedding

Shaming," where users criticise brides, guests, and wedding party members, it attracted a lot of attention. The bride's charges against her sister, alleging that the pregnancy was

an intentional attempt to sabotage her special day, sparked a great deal of resentment among the internet community. The debate was further fueled by the fact that her mother and fiancé

of honour has just announced that she is pregnant. And she is due around my wedding day (October 26, 2023). "She and her husband have been trying for a while, and I would like to feel

happy for her, but I'm seriously considering kicking her out of the wedding. The unnamed bride-to-be continued by claiming that her sister purposefully got pregnant in order to draw

attention away from her. She said: "I feel she has deliberately done this to take the attention away from me. The only problem is that she is my sister, and my parents are telling me to

postpone the wedding for her." The woman refused to change the wedding date despite her family's objections because she thought it would negatively impact their plans and result

in the loss of non-refundable deposits. She expressed displeasure since she was called "dramatic" in reaction to her viewpoint by both her partner and her parents. The bride

emphasised that the location had been reserved since November 2022, but she didn't feel like her fiance was standing by her. She said: "I am not postponing my day as we have had

the venue booked since November 2022. Even my fiancée is taking her side." And ended the post by asking: "Am I being dramatic?" The comments section was flooded with social

media users expressing their disapproval of the bride's actions.  One user posted: "The bride is obviously nuts - nobody in the history of forever has deliberately gotten pregnant

specifically to mess with another person’s wedding. "But the parents are also nuts. Postpone the wedding!? Do they not realize the expense involved in changing a wedding date after

non-refundable deposits have been paid and contracts signed? After guests have already bought plane tickets? "If sister gives birth on the wedding day, send the mother of the bride to

help her and the father of the bride to the wedding to walk the bride down the aisle. With live-streaming and video calls, you don’t need to be physically present to support each other as a

family."
