TV presenter Julia has fronted programmes such as Countryfile, Watchdog and The One Show on BBC1. She was last on our screens in ITV1’s The Wonder Of Britain early this summer. Julia, 45,
lives in London, with her partner Gerard, and has a four-year-old son, Zephyrus, and six-month-old twins, Xanthe and Zena. “This autumn, I’m busy filming a new TV series so I will be out
and about around the UK. Normally, we spend weekends at home in London but where possible the family will come and meet me at a beautiful location. “Recently, I’ve been filming in the Lake
District, which is one of my favourite parts of the world. After working all day on Friday, the crew and I will head off for a delicious meal at The Inn on the Square in Keswick. I may stay
there overnight and then meet up with my husband and the children the next morning. “We will then check into the Paradigm Cottages near Cockermouth, which are run by a dear friend, Jan, and
her partner Mark, whom I met many years ago. On Saturday morning, we will go to Honister Slate Mine, which is right near Honister Pass. You can take a tour around the mine and for adults
there is also the Via Ferrata to experience. This is an exciting climbing adventure, where you climb up rocks freestyle but safely harnessed in. “On Saturday afternoon, we will head back to
the cottages for some downtime before Jan cooks us some dinner. As she has three lovely children, it is the perfect evening in and we don’t have to worry about getting a babysitter. “On
Sunday, we will either go for a gentle walk at Buttermere or Grasmere, with the babies on our backs and Zeph in a harness. Or we can go for a boat ride on Windermere or Derwentwater, which
is a lovely family activity too. “Then it is time for Sunday lunch. The Hassness Country House on the shores of Buttermere does hearty Lake District fare. “Then as time will be slipping
away from us, we have to think about driving back to London and I’ll try to get the children into the car in their pyjamas, so I can just put them into bed when we eventually get home.”
