Prince Harry visited a hospital in Angola during his Africa trip, one his mother had visited in 1997. Harry unveiled a new sign for the recently renovated facility, posing in front of the
hospital with a plaque to mark his visit. The sign read: “Princess Diana Orthopaedic.” However, royal experts will be aware that “Princess Diana” was never the official title of Harry’s
mother. Diana, who was born Diana Frances Spencer, was called a number of names by the press, including Lady Di and the People’s Princess. Her real royal title was Her Royal Highness Diana,
Princess of Wales when she married Prince Charles. Shortly after their divorce Diana lost her HRH status and became simply Diana, Princess of Wales. Official royal documents will refer to
the late royal in this manner, as will members of the Royal Family. In fact, women are only allowed to be styled as “Princess so-and-so” with the express permission of the Queen, something
she never granted to Diana. READ MORE: ROYAL FAMILY BRANDED AS ‘STRANGE AND UNSUPPORTIVE’ BY EXPERT AS INTENSE SCRUTINY CONTINUES All of the memorials to the late Diana in the UK refer to
her as “Diana, Princess of Wales”, although some overseas use “Princess Diana.” And, in Africa, Prince Harry appeared to align himself with the more common term, used by most members of the
public to refer to his mother. At the event Prince Harry said: “It has been an honour to re-trace my mother’s steps today. I lost her 22 years ago but her memory is with me daily and her
legacy lives on. Which is why I am so happy to name this centre the Princess Diana Orthopaedic Centre." Harry toured the hospital meeting patients and staff. He visited the
rehabilitation room where prosthetic limbs are made in a workshop. He also visited the paediatric unit, encouraging children who were practising walking after being born with paralysis.

HAS MADE THESE WOMEN A ‘FORTUNE’ [INTERVIEW] Diana, Princess of Wales, was said to be devastated when she lost the style of “Her Royal Highness” after marrying Charles, something it is
said Prince Charles insisted on. Therefore, the Queen issued a letters patent to strip the title from women who divorced royal princes. A young Prince William was reported to have been
devastated at his mother’s sadness after the event, an told her: “Don't worry, Mummy, I will give it back to you one day when I am King.” There is often much confusion about exactly
what makes a royal princess a princess. For example, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice use their titles while Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, although official a Princess of the United
Kingdom, does not. Kate Middleton does not go by ‘princess’ as her title of Duchess is her highest and most important title. If she wished to use the title princess she would be Catherine,
Princess William, something most wives might take exception to. THE ROYAL LINE OF SUCCESSION - WHO OUTRANKS WHO? The line of succession to the British throne dictates the order in which each
member of the Royal Family would ascend to the throne. It is also seen as a ranking of importance with the head of the line, the Queen, taking the place of ruler. Older children come before
younger children. Traditionally boys came before girls, but this law was changed on 26 March 2015 before the birth of Prince William’s first child. Incredibly, Catholics are still excluded
from the line of succession, as are children born outside of wedlock. The royals, who usually stick to a strict protocol when appearing in public, often arrive at events in ascending order
of importance, with the most important royal arriving last. Prince Charles, 70, is currently second-in-line to the British throne, followed by Prince William, 37, his oldest son. Then comes
Prince William’s children, George, five, Charlotte, three, and Louis, almost one, and they are followed by Prince Harry, 34. Prince Harry is succeeded by his son Archie Harrison, born in
May.
