Following an adjustment for factors like age, underlying health conditions and smoking status, the research team found that all types of coffee were associated with a reduction in death from

any cause. When it came to cardiovascular disease, decaffeinated, ground, instant coffee, were linked to a six, 20, and nine percent reduced likelihood of the condition respectively.

Similarly to the risk of death, the lower risk was observed with two to three cups of the hot drink a day. Furthermore, ground and instant coffee were also found to reduce the risk of

arrhythmias, with four to five cups of ground and two to three cups of instant coffee being identified as the most beneficial for this condition.
