Weight loss is usually a product of diet and exercise, with the usual diet method being eating less and moving more. On top of watching what you eat and working out, there are a few other
methods that can speed up weight loss. One method is drinking tea, with many teas proven to speed up the metabolism and help you lose weight faster. The world’s most drunk beverage, not all
teas are created equal, with some better increasing weight loss and decreasing body fat. GREEN TEA Green tea is one of the most known and popular teas in the world, having been drunk for
centuries for its health benefits. However, only recently have its weight-loss benefits been highlighted, with green tea proven to speed up the metabolism and allow the body to break down
and process fat faster. A recent study showed that those who consume green tea lost an average of 2.9 pounds over a 12 week period, without any changes to their diet. Another study revealed
that drinking green tea twice a day can bun up to 100 extra calories a day, this is due to green tea being packed with caffeine and a flavonoid called catechin, which is known to help burn
fat. WHITE TEA Green tea’s lesser-drunk counterpart, the floral, aromatic white tea also comes with a host of health benefits, including speeding up weight loss. White tea has a host of
weight-loss benefits, including inhibiting the formation of new fat cells, mobilising fat and stimulating lipolysis, the fat burning process in the body. Like green tea, white tea is full of
caffeine and stimulates the metabolism, and is also known to suppress the appetite and keep hunger at bay. Studies show that white tea may help boost the metabolism by an extra five
percent, equal to burning an extra 70–100 calories per day. OOLONG TEA Oolong tea is a traditional Chinese tea that can be bought online or a specialist stores. Oolong is traditionally used
to increase alertness and stimulate thinking, due to its high caffeine content, but is also great for weight loss. Unlike green and white tea, Oolong tea is partially oxidised, with its
overall composition leading to various useful compounds that help the drinker lose weight. Oolong tea is full of antioxidants, resulting in it boosting the metabolism by a rate of 10 per
cent. Oolong tea also reduces cravings by maintaining blood sugar levels, also improving digestion and acting as a natural antiseptic. PUERH TEA Puerh tea (or pu'er or pu-erh) is a
fermented Chinese black tea, designed to be drunk after a meal. Studies have shown that the tea lowers blood sugar levels and enhances weight loss, with one study resulting in participants
losing two pounds from the tea alone. Another study found that the tea has anti-obesity effects and can help suppress or slow down weight gain.
