Rumours that the quartet could release an entire LP have coincidentally spread on the same day Prime Minister Theresa May danced on-stage at the Conservative Party Conference to Dancing
Queen. And so as ABBA trend on social media as a result of the stunt, more people are becoming aware of the quartet’s potential plans. They confirmed earlier this year that they had recorded
two new songs, which were initially believed to be due later this year - but it now seems they’ll be out in 2019. That two has since been touted as a potential four, or even more. Björn
Ulvaeus told the Evening Standard that they could do "a new album, possibly". "Or four songs or something like that – that’s possible,” he added. One thing that is definitely
off the cards is a tour. ”But for us to perform on stage that’s just not going to happen. That’s a definite," he confirmed. ABBA’s music has already had a great year, after returning to
popularity via Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again. The musical sequel, based on more of their hits, earned more than £60 million at the UK box office, coming within touching distance of the 2008
original. The quartet's two previously-announced new songs, called I Still Have Faith In You and Don’t Shut Me Down, were expected at the end of 2018 but will not see the light of day
until 2019. Andersson told the Daily Star: "It was planned for the end of this year. But I think we are talking about the beginning of next year now.” He added: "I am very proud of
both songs. “One is like a pop song from the Seventies. The other one is kind of timeless." An accompanying documentary will also be postponed, although their live immersive Mamma Mia
party experience is set to hit London in 2019.
