The initial rumours of Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 getting a planned-for late 2020 release date came from reliable leaker Sabi. Sabi was the one who correctly revealed tonnes of E3 2019
announcements before they were officially made. Back in November Sabi tweeted: "I would tell you Botw2 is planned to release in 2020, but Zelda release dates are historically delayed,
internally or publicly LOL”. They then added: "This isn’t speculation, just current plans." But then this year Sabi delivered another update, saying it looked like BoTW 2 was
taking longer to make than anticipated. And the leaker seemed to hint that Mario Kart 9 would replace Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 as this year's major Nintendo Switch release. Sabi
tweeted: "BoTW 2 taking longer than anticipated back during E3 2019, so it doesn’t seem to be this year’s holiday release, which adds more credence to the major title I was referencing
on a tweet the other day. "Neither are set in stone yet so take some salt. The more likely one has.. tires".
