UPDATE TWO: Respawn has a released a new statement today confirming the news that the Season 1 Apex Legends Battle Pass will not be released today. It follows earlier reports of Octane

character images going live on the Origin dashboard, alongside an announcement regarding the Battle Pass price. "So between the data mining and the unintentional update about Season 1

on Origin today, there’s been a lot of speculation and confusion, so we wanted to give some clarity," the Respawn statement reads. "We’ll be providing details on Season 1, Battle

Pass, and the next Legend very soon. It’s not coming out today. There’s lots of stuff that has been datamined from Apex since launch and is swirling around the Internet. We know this stuff

is fun to dig up and speculate about, but you should not treat any of that info as a source of truth. There’s stuff in there that is very old, or things we’ve tried in the past and

cut--remember our design process is to prototype and play lots of ideas--and some of it may be things we’re still building for Apex Legends. "Finding this stuff by no means confirms

that it’ll ever come out. At best you should treat any posts about this as a rumour, and the real info will come from us when we’re ready to show off what’s coming next." The new

statement does not confirm the Apex Legends Battle Pass release date, but it also does not rule out a launch later this week, or by the end of March. UPDATE ONE: A new leak has appeared

online that has provided further evidence that the Apex Legends Season 1 Battle Pass is being prepared for release this week. A new dashboard image appeared on the Origin landing page,

revealing that Octane was being added to the game. This also included news that the Battle Pass would cost 950 Apex Coin to buy. Twitter user, @shrugtal, who first spotted the image of

Octane, also posted the blurb that goes with it. It reportedly states: "Welcome to the Wild Frontier - Survive the arena, meet Apex Games' latest legend, Octane, wield new weapons

and score unique loot. The Season 1 Battle Pass is here, purchase it at the in-game store for 950 Apex Coins." ORIGINAL: News of the Apex Legends Battle Pass is something that fans are

hoping will be revealed this week by Respawn Entertainment, who have been keeping their plans a closely kept secret up until this point. There have been reports that new Season 1 content

will be launched today (March 12), however, nothing official has been shared so far. The only information we have right now includes how the new Apex Legends Battle Pass will work and what

kind of items it will contain. It sounds like it will try and mimic the success of other seasonal systems and will also contain some free loot for gamers who play during Apex Legends Season

1. “The Battle Pass is a seasonal system that rewards players with exclusive cosmetic items,” the official website confirms. “These rewards are a mix of exclusive seasonal cosmetics and Apex

Packs. “Every player can unlock some of these items each season through normal play; those who choose to purchase the Battle Pass can earn everything available that season, around 100

different rewards. “Everything you earn with the Battle Pass is yours to keep, even after the Season is over. “Legends will not be included in the Battle Pass. The Battle Pass gives players

exclusive cosmetic items and Apex Packs.” It’s also been confirmed that each season will run for three months on PS4, Xbox One and PC. The last major news regarding the Apex Legends Battle

Pass was shared by Respawn last week, following an update that nerfed the Wingman and Peacekeeper weapons. Tuesdays have become the usual day for Respawn to release updates, meaning a new

patch could be on its way. “We know you folks are fired up for info on Season 1 and Battle Pass. We still have work to do to get everything ready for prime time and won’t be talking about it

yet,” the official patch notes read. “There are a lot of moving parts and coordination that go into big announcements and launches like this. I know the wait sucks, but it’s coming and ask

that you all, please be patient with us." The Respawn post goes on to name some of the new balance changes being planned for the start of Season 1 but doesn’t provide a date for when

that might be. Fans were given hope that an update like that was being planned for today, following a tweet from the AMD Gaming account. This suggested that a balance patch would be released

today, possibly signalling the start of Season 1 soon after. “Two of Apex Legend’s most popular weapons caught nerfs this week, and Tuesday ushers in balance patches for some of your

favourite Legends,” the AMD Gaming message reads. “Battle Pass and Season 1 are on the horizon.” However, while this may have sounded like a promising development, the team has since

explained that they posted this by mistake and do not have prior information on when the next major Apex Legends update will land. “No insider info and no clickbait -- just a mistake! At the

time of this posting, we thought 3/12 was the patch with info on Battle Pass and Season 1 pending,” a second reply explains from AMD Gaming. One thing we do know for sure is that the Season

1 Battle Pass will definitely launch this month. The Apex Legends release roadmap confirms as much, explaining that the first season will run from March until June. And data miners have

started picking up information on skins and other cosmetics that will be made available as part of Season 1. So that’s another good sign that the Battle Pass will be arriving later this

month and will not be delayed.
