Back in 1970, the American actress appeared in a CBS TV special simply entitled Raquel!, which saw her take centre-stage for a number of lavish musical sets. However, it was the opening
montage that surely raised eyebrows at the time thanks to her skimpy attire. Raquel's trim figure and never-ending pins were impossible to miss as she danced around energetically with
two space men in tow. The Fantastic Voyage, now 75, star set pulses racing in a silver bikini, which emphasised her ample bust, as well as a matching headpiece. Keeping her tresses down and
gloves firmly on, Raquel polished off her eye-popping attire with a pointy pair of heeled boots. The beauty was certainly no stranger to stripping off for the camera at the time, and she had
quickly become an international sex symbol. Her new status came thanks to movie One Million Years B.C., which saw Raquel sport a tiny doe-skin two-piece on the majority of the posters.
Raquel! also saw the film star, who has been married four times, recite poetry and showcase her comedic talents. Sir Tom Jones guest-starred alongside the likes of John Wayne and Bob Hope,
who got involved with a Wild West skit. As well as A-list names, Raquel filmed everywhere from London and Mexico City to Paris and Los Angeles for the programme, which received a 51 per cent
share on the National ARB Ratings.
