The 35-year-old actress was channelling classic English rose in her delicate gown that had a slight edginess to it thanks to the cut-out panelling and bold, black lines that broke it up. But
it was the criss-crossed black straps on the back that set the outfit off and gave a sexy slant to an otherwise quite elegant gown. The Golden Globe winner wore her honey blonde hair down
in a side parting with half of her locks swept to one side behind her ear with a black butterfly clip. Her make-up was kept to sparkly metallic pink eyeshadow and nude pink lips to match her
gown. In the accessories stakes Joanne went for some simple black and silver hanging earrings and a black, rectangular clutch bag. She was up for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series
but lost out to Orange Is The New Black star Uzo Aduba. Other nominees in the category included Christina Hendricks in Mad Men and Christine Baranski in The Good Wife. Downton's Jim
Carter was nominated in the category for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series but lost the gong to Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage. The sixth and final series of Downton Abbey aired
in the UK last night. Despite the cast and creator announcing that there will be no further series after this year, viewers are hoping that the drama will be adapted for the big screen in
the future.
