Rolling in the money: Adele in talks to join Sony records for a hefty £80million deal

The lucrative opportunity will see the Oscar winner, who raked in over £30 million last year, given her own record label.


The Someone Like You singer is said to have disagreed with her current label XL Recordings over the direction of her new anticipated album, which will follow her record-breaking LP 21,


released in 2011.


Bosses at Sony, which is home to the likes of One Direction, Katy Perry, Justin Timberlake and George Michael – are hoping the mother-of-one will join their roster of talent.


If Adele signs the hefty deal, which could end up becoming the biggest in music history, it could also see her tour for the first time.

"The money is absolutely huge but they hope she will sign for her own label.


The insider added: "It means she'll keep a higher percentage of profits from record sales and the proposed tour. 


"She has never been on the road before so it will be a huge money-spinner and likely to sell out within hours."


The 26-year-old has been on a musical hiatus after becoming a first-time mother, but devotees had hoped the Grammy Award winner will be back in 2014.


However, Martin Mills, Chairman of the Beggars Group which runs XL Recordings label, previously dismissed rumours the star will be returning with new music this year.


Speaking to Billboard.com, he said: "[There is] no truth in this."
