erased.” Daniel responded with a statement posted by LGBT suicide prevention charity The Trevor Project, in which he directly called out the author. He said: “Trans women are women. Any

statement to the contrast erases the identity and dignity of transgender people.” He added that he hoped the author’s comments would not “taint” the Harry Potter series for fans. The actor,

who has previously spoken out against homophobia and supported The Trevor Project since 2009, said it was not about “in-fighting” but that he felt “compelled to say something”, given that JK
