WHO IS KATIE PIPER? HOW OLD IS KATIE PIPER? Katie Piper was the first celebrity to be announced for this year’s Strictly Come Dancing by the BBC. The 34-year-old first rose to prominence


nearly a decade ago after she chose to lift her anonymity and appear on the Channel 4 Katie: My Beautiful Face. The moving documentary saw Piper discuss her assault in which sulphuric acid


was thrown in her face in 2008. Katie: My Beautiful Face was nominated for the Best Single Documentary at the BAFTA TV Awards in 2010 and won A Broadcast Award in 2011. Piper chose to forego


her anonymity to raise awareness about burn victims and subsequently launched her charitable organisation The Katie Piper Foundation which seeks to support and improve the lives of burns


survivors. Along with her philanthropy, Piper is also a best-selling author, publishing her autobiography Beautiful in 2011. Since then she’s gone on to release a series of self-help books


beginning with Things Get Better: If you believe then you will survive in 2012. She went on to publish Beautiful Ever After and Confidence: the Secret. STRICTLY COME DANCING 2018 LINE-UP The


star also served as a columnist for Reveal and NOW magazine, as well as previously writing articles for the Sunday Mirror. Piper took part in her first theatre tour called What’s In My Head


earlier this year in which she spoke about how she remains positive in the era of social media. She is also a television presenter and host with her previous projects including Katie: The


Science of Seeing Again, Bodyshockers, My Beautiful Friends and Never Seen a Doctor, along with a number of other programmes. The TV personality has also launched several ranges of fashion


collections with online clothing retailer Want That Trend. Piper is married to Richard Sutton, whom she wed in 2015 and the couple has two children together. STRICTLY COME DANCING 2018
