A popular roadside cafe with views for miles is looking for a catering assistant - but you'll need some wheels as it's on the edge of the Pennine moors. Nicky's FoodBar is
popular with long-distance walkers as it is on the Pennine Way, and also attracts lorry drivers and others as it's just off junction 22 of the M62 at Windy Hill. There's no better
place to be in the summer, says owner Nicky Jackson, but the weather can be harsh at 1,276ft above sea level. Nicky has just taken on one part-time worker but needs another. The job ad
states: "Good customer service skills and ability to get on well with customers. Must have own transport due to location." Nicky describes it as a 'great job
opportunity'. _Yorkshire Live_ visited the roadside cafe in February. The truck stop is in a shipping container on the border with Calderdale and is a welcome sight for Pennine Way
walkers as it is the only cafe in the 30-odd miles on the first stretch of the famous walk. Some of the customers are tough characters who have battled through wind and rain for miles on the
boggy moors. Nicky said: "The Pennine Way people come in quite dizzy and hungry and sit down and gather themselves. We are a haven for hikers and for truckers." She added: "I
feel very lucky. In the summer it is so gorgeous up here. It is the best job in the world. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else." Nicky enjoys meeting the customers and said:
"We have all sorts of characters. We have people who walk for miles and miles and they just appear, and farmers who don't see people for days on end and then come in and talk
forever." Nicky's FoodBar job advert can be found on Facebook. The pay rate is £12.21 per hour. The cafe is in a layby on the A672 at Windy Hill, just off the M62, on the border of
West Yorkshire and Greater Manchester. _GET ALL THE LATEST AND BREAKING NEWS IN YORKSHIRE BY_ _ SIGNING UP TO OUR NEWSLETTER HERE._
