The MEN’S AND WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIPS give your team an opportunity to become a national champion, regardless of whether you represent your club’s 1_st_ XI or 2_nd_ or even 8_th_ XI. Four

different Tiers help to level the playing field and ensure you come up against teams of a similar ability standard – the Tiers restrict entry based on the league you play in.  In this

straight knockout competition, the further you progress the wider the pool of possible opponents becomes. It’s a great opportunity to play different teams from those you play week in and

week out in your league. Everyone loves a cup run, and regardless of league form, it’s something different to look forward to!  NEW FOR THIS SEASON - TEAMS WHO LOSE IN ROUND 1 WILL HAVE AN

OPPORTUNITY TO PARTICIPATE IN A PARALLEL PLATE COMPETITION TO GIVE TEAMS MORE OPPORTUNITIES TO PROGRESS WITHIN THE CHAMPIONSHIPS THROUGH TO A FINAL.    THE MIXED CHAMPIONSHIPS continue to be

our most popular competition. Inclusive, fun, and sociable, players love mixing it with others from their club to form a mixed side. Clubs can even enter as many mixed teams as they like

although players can only play for one team. Teams have a maximum of five male players on the pitch at any one time plus a goalkeeper of either sex..  All teams enter at Tier 1 but early

round losers get a second chance with the Tier 2 (Plate) competition AND, NEW FOR 2024-25, TEAMS WHO LOSE IN ROUND 1 OF THE PLATE WILL GO INTO THE TIER 3 (SHIELD).  With THREE opportunities

now to reach a national final, and a minimum of THREE games having a great time with your club mates, what’s not to love?  The beauty of hockey is that anyone can play and our MASTERS

CHAMPIONSHIPS provide a great platform for senior players to come together in their age groups and renew old friendships and rivalries.    THERE ARE SOME EXCITING CHANGES TO THE MASTERS

CHAMPIONSHIPS IN 2024.     THE CHAMPIONSHIPS AGES GROUPS ARE REVISED TO OVER 35S, OVER 45S, OVER 55S AND OVER 65. This means the Women’s and Men’s competitions  align and reflects that

Masters hockey starts at the Over 35 age group now    THE OVER 65S COMPETITION WILL BE FOR COUNTY TEAMS OR. Players must represent the County that their Saturday adult league club play in

All teams enter at Tier 1 but early round losers get a second chance with the Tier 2 (Plate) competition AND, NEW FOR 2024-25, TEAMS WHO LOSE IN ROUND 1 OF THE PLATE WILL GO INTO THE TIER 3

(SHIELD).  The JUNIOR CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS are all about giving youngsters the opportunity to play more hockey. Playing with or against their peers and friends is great fun and gives clubs an

opportunity to nurture their talent.  There are three age groups in each gender. Knockout competitions run through the season – a Tier 1 and Tier 2 Championship and a Plate at each Tier

respectively apart from U16 Tier 1 where a league competition is run.  In both genders, the age groups are Under 18, Under 16 and Under 14.     The new format for the Boys and Girls U16 Tier

1 competition run last season will continue in 2024-25.  In the U14s and U18s Teams will be able to enter at either Tier 1 or Tier 2 – the Tier they enter must be the same Tier at which

they play in the Area Leagues. There will then be a Plate for each Tiered Championship, which will allow early round losers a second opportunity to go for glory and gives teams a minimum of

two games.
