Lachit’s heroic deeds was organised outside Assam. A souvenir was also released on the occasion depicting the life and history of the state. Suhrid Barua, committee member related the tale
of the commander in Ahom kingdom, “During the last stage of the battle of Saraighat, Lachit, who was seriously ill, led a desperate battle forcing Mughals to retreat from Guwahati.”
