President Pranab Mukherjee will visit Pune on December 28, while on his two-day Maharashtra tour on December 27 and 28. He will unveil the statue of Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj and attend the
golden jubilee function of the Tribal Research and Training Institute (TRTI) in Pune. Minister for Tribal Development, Madhukar Pichad, on Monday held a four-hour meeting with the officials
to finalise on the preparations for the President’s visit. Pichad said, “A special exhibition along with a tribal handicraft exhibition will be displayed at TRTI when the President visits
the institute. Later, he will be visiting the TRTI cultural museum and will release a souvenir to mark the golden jubilee of the TRTI.” He further informs that governor K Sankarnarayanan,
union minister Sharad Pawar, chief minister Prithviraj Chavan, deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar will also attend the golden jubilee programme at Balgandharv Rang Mandir. President Mukherjee
will arrive in Mumbai on December 27.
