Ralegan Siddhi: With Anna Hazare’s hunger strike entering its fourth day on Friday, doctors have advised him to end fast as the veteran leader has lost 1.6 kg weight in a single day. Noble
Hospital’s Dr Dilip Mane, who is looking after Anna’s health said, “During a medical check-up on Friday morning, Anna complained of weakness and his weight has reduced drastically.” He said
Hazare’s blood pressure, hydration and heart condition are normal and stable, but the rise of ketone level in urine is a matter of concern. “It is advisable for Anna to discontinue the fast
or he should go for glucose and electrol. But he has refused to have that also,” he said. Anna started his fast on Tuesday at 11 am and his weight on Wednesday, after 24 hours reduced by
900 gm. His lost 700 gm on Thursday. On Friday, it reduced by 1.6 kg. “Today his weight was 68.4 kg and if the ketone level increases, he has to go for intravenous therapy. We advise that
he should drink more water and talk less,” said Mane. Anna reiterated that he will not discontinue the fast. “I am not keeping fast for the first time and have witnessed my weight reducing
by seven kg,” he said.
