With Shah Rukh Khan promoting Raees on a train, we take a look at other film stars who have used the public transport to create a buzz around their films Shah Rukh Khan and Indian Railways
have a close connect. From dancing atop a train (_Chaiyya Chaiyya_) to the iconic rail sequence with Kajol in _Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge_ to _Chennai Express_ with Deepika Padukone, SRK
has shot several sequences in railgaadis. Yesterday, he took one from Mumbai to Delhi to promote his upcoming film _Raees_ on the rail. After all, it’s the quickest and easiest way to
connect with the masses. Last year, Katrina Kaif and Sidharth Malhotra travelled by tram in Kolkata to promote _Baar Baar Dekho_. They are not the only ones. In the last couple of years,
several actors like Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone have used the mode of public transport to promote their films. Here’s a lowdown... KATRINA KAIF-SIDHARTH
MALHOTRA As part of their promotions for _Baar Baar Dekho_, Katrina and Sidharth not only travelled in a tram when they were in Kolkata, they also grooved to their hit number _Kaala Chashma_
from the film. Fellow commuters also joined in and danced to the song making it a fun travel. Kat-Sid were also caught leaning out of the train and posing for the shutterbugs. Before that,
the duo had turned the Jaipur metro station into a party place when they danced along with a flash mob of nearly 100 guys and girls. ANIL KAPOOR For the second season of his thriller 24,
Anil Kapoor boarded a local train in Mumbai. He later shared several pictures of him interacting with co-passengers in the train. It’s a different thing that a picture of him leaning out of
the train didn’t go down well with Western Railways, which promptly sent a notice to the production house demanding an explanation on the stunts by the actor. DEEPIKA PADUKONE — RANBIR
KAPOOR Trains have played an integral part in Imtiaz Ali’s films like _Jab We Met, Love Aaj Kal_ and his last directorial, Tamasha. When they were promoting the latter, Deepika, Ranbir and
Imtiaz travelled from Mumbai to Delhi by Rajdhani. It was Deepika, who expressed a wish to travel by train and Ranbir decided to fulfill it. He made all the arrangements for the tickets and
later Dippy happily posted pictures from the train on social media. ALIA BHATT — VARUN DHAWAN The Mumbai Metro had just been inaugurated when Varun and Alia decided to take a ride on it!
This was a part of their promotional activity for _Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya_. Even though Alia had injured her leg and was hobbling on crutches, the spirited girl gave company to her hero
and travelled in the Metro. They later sang songs from their film and interacted with people on the station. VIDYA BALAN She is one actress who doesn’t shy away from using public transport
for film promotions. During _Kahaani_, Vidya dressed up like her character in the film, sported a pregnant belly and travelled by bus in Mumbai with a picture of her ‘missing’ husband. She
also promoted the film standing at railway stations. Even during the promotion of her detective drama _Bobby Jasoos_, Vidya took a cab to go to Mahim Dargah, instead of her car. And for
_Kahaani _2 she travelled by an autorickshaw to the venue of the trailer launch. OTHERS Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapoor had travelled by a Mumbai local to promote _Teri Meri Kahaani_. The
music of _Tees Maar Khan_ was launched on a train ride from Mumbai to Lonavla with Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif.
