India and Sri Lanka are all set for the New Year clash at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati on Sunday (December 5). Team India speedster Jasprit Bumrah is set to make his long-awaited
comeback into the national side during their upcoming T20I series against Sri Lanka. Bumrah had picked up the injury in September and did not play in the home series against South Africa,
Bangladesh and West Indies. Ahead of India's first international match of 2020, Bumrah claimed on Saturday (December 5) that he spent most of his time looking at key ways to improve his
game and on his fitness while he was out injured. “I was looking at it not as an injury layoff but as something where I was planning how to build back my strength, how to improve the things
I wanted to improve, take a break, be fresh and be hungry again when you come back,” Bumrah claimed. “It was not very difficult for me (injury layoff). What was happening was, I was never
in pain, not a single day I was in pain. I took it as an opportunity to build my strength. What happens when you play regularly is your strength can go down and your fitness level can go
down a little bit,” he added. The 26-year-old was also asked about how he felt after his first net-session in months? To which he said, “Very good (first training after coming back). The
intensity was very good. You always want to do such sessions, high-intensity." "In the fielding session, we did high catches, we did run-out sessions. And in the nets, we practiced
all the yorkers,” Bumrah added. India and Sri Lanka are all set for the New Year clash at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati on Sunday (December 5). The match will be the first of the
three-T20I series to be played in preparation for the upcoming T20I World Cup in Australia.
