their origins in 1991, to the methods and philosophy which guides them. approximately 12 minutes long and focusing on commentary from the team, it provides a great insight into a practice

that has become renowned for their work in design.

formed in 1991 by david kelley, bill moggridge and mike nuttall, IDEO is an international design firm that employs a human-centered approach to helping organizations in the public and

private sectors innovate and grow. the short film by dress code begins with commentary from one of IDEO’s founders, david kelley. he discusses how they have merged good design with good

engineering, in order to make products easily manufactured.

the video begins from IDEO’s origins

kelley also notes how IDEO is a team effort, and how the firm has brought people from various backgrounds together to result in better design solutions. different members of the team also

discuss how IDEO focus on human-centred design by going out of the office and involving people in the process. this aspect is highlighted as a vital part of the firm’s approach, in order to

make design intuitive and bridge the gap between people and technology. what is also evident from dress code’s film, is the breadth of projects the company have undertaken. from the design

of a shopping cart, to envisioning future mobility, IDEO have racked up a considerable and impressive portfolio of design.
