In a competitive weekend for specialty movies, a couple of newcomers shined. Well Go USA opened _LOST IN HONG KONG_ in over two dozen theaters attracting good crowds, while Broad Green

Pictures closed escrow on _99 HOMES_ in a pair of theaters with decent returns. And A24 bowed _MISSISSIPPI GRIND_ in an exclusive run, taking in over $14K. Maligned but certainly not

ignored, _STONEWALL_ bowed modestly in 129 theaters, averaging slightly lower than _FINDERS KEEPERS_, which was also slow out of the gate. Last week’s top title, _Sicario_, expanded and

still managed a stellar sophomore session with the weekend’s highest per-theater-average. RADiUS’ _Before We Go_, meanwhile, crossed $2 million on demand. Well Go USA’s Mandarin/Chinese

follow-up to international hit _Lost In Thailand_ debuted in 27 theaters, capturing the weekend’s best opening per-theater-average.  The film directed by Zheng Xu grossed nearly $559K,

averaging a cool $20,700, attracting a large Chinese audience. Not surprisingly, Well Go said it was “thrilled” with early results Sunday. The distributor will take _Lost In Hong Kong_ to

Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Cincinnati this coming week. _Lost In Thailand_ took in more than $197M internationally. It’s worth noting that in China _LIHK_ has grossed $70.6 million in its

first two days on its way to between $96M and $105M weekend in the Middle Kingdom. Broad Green Pictures opened Ramin Bahrani’s _99 Homes_ in two theaters Friday, grossing $32,807 for an

average of $16,403. The company said Sunday the feature was “well above norms with 70% of the total audience scoring the film as ‘definitely recommend'” and 90% scoring the film “highly

favorable.” Next in line are cinemas in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Washington, D.C. and Boston. A24, meanwhile, bowed _Mississippi Grind_ in New York. It grossed $14,335 and will

expand to the top 25 markets over the next few weeks. WATCH ON DEADLINE Roland Emmerich’s “historical” pic _Stonewall_ bowed in 129 theaters, by far the widest specialty opener. The film,

which screened at the recent Toronto International Film Festival, had a rough go after its trailer was released this summer, with some complaining it was inaccurate. Even so, it received

much more media than it may have otherwise, but the attention didn’t translate into box office. The feature grossed over $112K, averaging only $871. Gravitas Ventures took Hot Docs audience

award winner _Unbranded_ day and date theatrical/VOD, playing in 58 theaters. The feature grossed $150K, averaging $2,586. The company said _Unbranded_ also took in $150K in VOD and is the

number one documentary on iTunes. Said Gravitas Ventures’ Nolan Gallagher: “It’s a testament to the filmmakers that we will have over a hundred theatrical screenings happening while also

being the [No. 1] documentary on demand.” Less strong was _Finders Keepers_, which The Orchard opened in five theaters. The feature grossed just $5,740, averaging $1,148. Last week,

Lionsgate’s _Sicario_ ruled the specialty box office and pulled off that feat this weekend as well. Lionsgate added 53 runs for the title’s second weekend, grossing a sizzling $1.77M in 59

theaters. The film averaged a robust $30K, the highest PTA of any movie reporting box office numbers this weekend. It has cumed $2.35M. In its 8th weekend on demand, RADiUS’ _Before We Go_

crossed $2 million on demand. In its ultra-VOD window, the company told Deadline exclusively the feature directed by and starring Chris Evans as well as Alice Eve grossed over $1.5 million

before opening in theaters at the beginning of September. At the box office, it has grossed just over $37K. Also crossing a milestone was Sony Classics’ _Grandma_. The film starring Lily

Tomlin handily crossed $5 million in its sixth weekend. The film grossed nearly $815K in over 800, averaging $1,061. NEW _99 HOMES_ (Broad Green Pictures) NEW [2 Theaters] Weekend $32,807,
