films, including Nil By Mouth, Scum and The Departed. But now he is 68 years-old, he is spending more and more time at his villa in Sicily with his wife Elaine. Although he is enjoying

winding down he isn’t ready to permanently relocate to Italy yet. This is because his three daughters, who include actress Jaime Winstone, and his grandchildren are all still in England. He

ones lately and if they come off I’ll be very happy. “You know when you read them, it’s not a question of turning them down, it’s thank you, I’m not interested.” He added: “But then there’s

other times when you read something you’re not quite sure about but you need to pay the rent, so you will go and do that, you have to do that. “It’s part and parcel of it; the taxman needs
