A SURVEY OF 2,000 ADULTS FOUND THAT PEOPLE CONSIDER NOISE CANCELLING HEADPHONES, QUILTED LOO ROLL, AND PRE-CHOPPED VEGETABLES TO BE 'LUXURIES' - ROB KNIGHT 15:32, 30 May 2025 The
finer things in modern life now include the likes of noise-cancelling headphones, plush quilted loo roll, and conveniently pre-chopped veggies. Not to be outdone, high-end scented candles, a
cheeky mid-week glass of vino, and instant boiling water taps are also on the list. Gadgets like robot vacuum cleaners, savvy smart thermostats, and a post-dinner sweet nibble are seen as
today's little indulgences. According to a survey by Müller Bliss, nearly half of adults reckon their hectic schedules barely allow for any daily decadence, with the average person
treating themselves to luxury just five times a month. Yet, for 38%, savouring these 'little luxuries' has become more significant than ever before. Great British Menu star Kate
Austen, teaming up with the yoghurt brand, dished out her thoughts: "For me, little luxuries are basically edible happiness, from a comfort dish to a sneaky ready-made dessert,
it's my instant mood elevator." Kate whipped up some "Bliss Bites" inspired by Müller's latest offerings: Whipped Greek Style Strawberries & Cream with mini
biscuits, and Whipped Greek Style Yogurt Lemon Meringue Pie. The survey also revealed what used to be considered a luxury but is now pretty much expected, such as jet-setting holidays,
flying, owning a personal computer, along with subscription telly services, retail therapy, and fast food splurges. A staggering 82% of Brits reckon that treating themselves to a bit of posh
nosh or other small luxuries can seriously perk up their mood, hinting that it's well worth making the effort to indulge. But it seems these treats are often a solo affair – with 70%
admitting they've secretly savoured their little luxuries alone. Around 35% have gone to 'extreme' measures to get their fix in peace – including sneaking off to the loo (43%)
and even disguising their indulgence in different packaging (32%). A poll conducted by OnePoll.com has crowned grub as the top indulgence (39%), with pudding taking the cake as the most
opulent part of a meal (58%). The 'decadent taste' tops the list of reasons why food feels more luxurious, followed closely by the sensation it gives when scoffed down and its
ability to tantalise multiple senses at once. Marina Lazu, the brand manager for Müller Bliss, chimed in: "Luxury is enhanced convenience, it is important we indulge in luxuries to
give us those dopamine hits." She added, "We believe luxury isn't about extravagance, it's about those small moments that bring joy. Our new Whipped Greek Style flavours
offer a way to elevate the everyday with a little bit of luxury in every spoonful." Article continues below TOP 30 MOST COMMON LUXURIES: * Peace and quiet * High-speed internet * Good
