LUIS GUALDRON-GUALDRON A TREN DE ARAGUA SUSPECT WITH A HISTORY OF SEXUAL HARASSMENT, HAS BEEN ARRESTED BY US AUTHORITIES AS RIFTS IN THE NOTORIOUS GANG CAUSE IT TO SPLIT 16:25, 04 Feb

2025Updated 16:32, 04 Feb 2025 Police have arrested a "paedophile" Tren de Aragua suspect, as infighting in the grim gang has caused it to "split into two". Venezuelan

national Luis Gualdron-Gualdron was nabbed by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement on Jan 31 near the Northampton County Prison. The suspected gang member had previously been arrested for

indecent assault of a person under 16-years-old and harassment. His arrest comes amid reports of infighting within the Venezuelan gang leading to a split into two factions, as per the US

Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York. Gualdron was first apprehended by US Border Patrol near Brownsville, Texas, on December 13, 2023, for illegally entering the US

without inspection or parole by an immigration official. On May 27, 2024, the Bethlehem Police Department in Pennsylvania arrested Gualdron for indecent assault without consent, indecent

assault on a person less than 16-years-of age, and harassment. ICE encountered Gualdron at the Northampton County Prison in Easton, Pennsylvania, and lodged an immigration detainer with the

facility on May 28, 2024. The Court of Common Pleas of Northampton County, Pennsylvania convicted Gualdron of harassment and sentenced him to incarceration for three to six months with

credit for time served. "The arrest of Luis Gualdron-Gualdron, a suspected Tren de Aragua gang member with a serious criminal record, exemplifies our commitment to public safety and

immigration law enforcement," said Enforcement and Removal Operations Philadelphia acting Field Office Director Brian McShane. "Working closely with our partners in Homeland

Security Investigations, we will continue to ensure that those who pose a threat to our communities are apprehended and removed." An investigation into the notorious Latin American gang

has uncovered that some members are distancing themselves from the group, now referring to themselves as "Anti-Tren." The US Attorney's Office has reported numerous shootings

arising from conflicts between these rival factions. Authorities have noted that Tren de Aragua also has established a foothold in the United States. Article continues below Earlier in the

week, Anderson Zambrano-Pacheco, an alleged leader of Tren de Aragua, was detained in New York City during a multiagency operation. According to Aurora police, Zambrano-Pacheco, who is

wanted for burglary in Colorado, was involved in an incident where residents of two apartments were threatened with firearms. Aurora Councilwoman Danielle Jurinsky expressed her concern

about the gang's potential growth due to its split into two factions, stating on NewsNation Prime on Saturday night: "What I have seen here in Aurora is just devastating,".
