OVER THE LAST 18 YEARS THERE HAS BEEN NO POSITIVE SIGHTING OF MADELEINE MCCANN AND NO ONE HAS BEEN CHARGED WITH HER ABDUCTION, BUT HER PARENTS HAVE NEVER GIVEN UP HOPE 02:40, 03 Jun 2025 A
former UK detective has dropped a shocking revelation about the latest hunt for Madeleine McCann. Maddie disappeared while on a family holiday in Praia da Luz, Portugal, on May 3, 2007.
Despite 18 years passing with no confirmed sightings or charges for her kidnapping, her parents have clung to hope. Today marks the beginning of new police searches close to where Madeleine
was last seen. The operation, initiated by German authorities, is set to span from Praia da Luz to a nearby property once linked to chief suspect Christian Brueckner. An insider from
Portugal revealed that this week's search is due to kick off as the groundwork gets underway. He disclosed: "They will be land searches only. The main objective is to look for any
signs of Madeleine's body." Ex-British Police detective Mark Williams-Thomas, renowned for his involvement in major missing persons cases globally, has weighed in on the fresh
efforts to find Madeleine McCann. Article continues below Mark took to social media stating: "The police in Portugal are going to search for the German police - the areas surrounding
where Christian B (CB) rented a small farm building. "The search is looking for evidence of Madeleine McCann's body. I thoroughly investigated this whole area for my @paramountplus
series and we filmed a lot of the area around. "It was 10 months before Madeleine went missing that CB was last seen at that address. I cannot see any evidence being found." In a
fresh bid to crack the case, Portuguese authorities will embark on a three-day search, utilising radar technology to scan 15ft underground in Praia da Luz, in the hopes of unearthing vital
clues regarding Madeleine's disappearance. A reliable Portuguese insider revealed: "They will be land searches only. The main objective is to look for any signs of Madeleine's
body." Acting on a request from a German public prosecutor, detectives will conduct an extensive range of searches. At least 30 agents from Germany's BKA will be involved, armed
with ground-penetrating radar capable of scanning 15ft into the earth. Article continues below Their focus will be on the vicinity of a cottage linked to the prime suspect and adjacent
scrubland. The previous search effort in the case took place in 2023, when detectives from three countries collaborated on an operation near a dam and reservoir, approximately 50 kilometers
(30 miles) from the Praia da Luz resort. _FOR THE LATEST BREAKING NEWS AND STORIES FROM ACROSS THE GLOBE FROM THE DAILY STAR, SIGN UP FOR OUR NEWSLETTER BY CLICKING_ _HERE __._
