CORONATION STREET ACTOR COLSON SMITH'S TIME AS CRAIG TINKER CAME TO AN END AFTER NEARLY 14 YEARS ON THE COBBLES, BUT FANS HAVE BEEN LEFT DISAPPOINTED WITH HIS VIOLENT END. 16:03, 20 May

2025 Coronation Street's Colson Smith has left soap fans devastated with his tragic farewell from the Cobbles, as the soap marked his departure. The actor, who has portrayed Craig

Tinker on the ITV series for nearly 14 years, announced earlier this year that he would be hanging up his character's police uniform. However, fans have been left gutted at how writers

cast him out of the programme. In January, alongside an image of himself in character as Craig the cop, Colson confirmed on social media: "Autumn last year I was told that Craig

Tinker's time on the Cobbles is to come to end in 2025." He expressed his deep affection for his time on the show, saying: "I've loved every single second of my 14 year

stay as a resident on the greatest street in the world. I feel incredibly lucky to have grown up in, on and around Coronation Street. I've learned pretty much everything about life from

the people who call it home. I'm excited to play out the exit story for Our Craigy." Colson also hinted at his future aspirations: "For Me, this is just the end of the

beginning. I genuinely can't wait to see what chapter 2 has in store for me. LONG LIVE THE COBBLES!" Taking to social media following his exit, fans blasted writers for making

Colson's character look a "fool" as they said he deserved a lot more. Article continues below One person said: "It's Craig's last week in the programme, why

have the script writers given him such rubbish lines and thoughts, I know he doesn't have the greatest of goodbyes but they could of not made him look a right fool." Another

echoed: "Hate both the fact that he going plus the way they sending him off. He was such a pleasant character always and depressing and violent storyline for his parting."

"Think the script writers need to go, getting rid of all the good ones, he could have left on a happy ending, not full of violence," added a third. Someone else added: "Why

kill him off in such a violent story line, id like to have seen him make it as a detective and be written out by going to join the met in London." One fan chimed: "Why him why.in

that way .did he after go in such a sad way to leave is heart breaking." "Bloody shame that they wrote him out, Awesome actor and an amazing character he portrayed, will be very

missed. Good luck with what ever you decide to do," penned another. Another lamented: "A ridiculous story. Why did Lisa put Craig with Kit when he cleanly doesn't like him or

have any respect for him." Article continues below During the broadcast of Corrie's first episode of the week, Colson took to Twitter, posting a message that swiftly tugged at

viewers' heartstrings following the harrowing scenes they had just witnessed. "One final shift Craigy T," the 26-year-old actor wrote, accompanied by an orange heart emoji.

Sharon Marshall from This Morning, dubbed the 'soap queen', was quick to react, simply stating: "Sob." _JOIN THE_ _DAILY RECORD'S WHATSAPP COMMUNITY HERE __AND GET
