THE FORCE RELEASED A STATEMENT SAYING THERE IS "NOTHING TO SUGGEST" THE SHOOTING OF EDDIE LYONS JNR AND ROSS MONAGHAN OUTSIDE MONAGHANS IRISH BAR WAS PLANNED IN SCOTLAND. 19:57, 03
Jun 2025Updated 23:08, 03 Jun 2025 Police have said they currently have "no intelligence" that the executions of two Scottish men in a pub in Spain are linked to the ongoing gang
war plaguing the country. The force released a statement saying there is "nothing to suggest" the shooting of Eddie Lyons Jnr and Ross Monaghan outside Monaghans Irish Bar in
Fuengirola on Saturday was planned in Scotland. It comes as the Lyons lieutenants were gunned down by a masked attacker after watching the Champions League final in the bar south of Malaga
at around 11pm. Police Scotland also issued a warning about misinformation and speculation linking the events to the turf war that hit the country earlier this year. The statement reads:
"The investigation into the fatal shootings in Fuengirola is being carried out by Spanish police. Police Scotland is supporting Spanish police where requested, however at this time we
have no officers deployed within Spain. "There is currently no intelligence to suggest the deaths of these two men in Spain are linked to the recent criminal attacks in Scotland being
investigated as part of Operation Portaledge. Article continues below "Any misinformation or speculation linking the events in Spain are not helpful to the ongoing investigations in
either country. There is also nothing to suggest that the shooting in Fuengirola was planned from within Scotland." Both Lyons and Monaghan had previously survived attempts on their
lives. Eddie Lyons was shot in the face at his home in Cumbernauld, Lanarkshire, in 2006. JOIN THE DAILY RECORD WHATSAPP COMMUNITY! Get the latest news sent straight to your messages by

"Gerbil" Carroll in Bellshill, Lanarkshire. Eddie was injured and Gallacher was shot in the encounter, but both lived to tell the tale. In 2010, Gerbil was gunned down in the car
park of the ASDA supermarket in Glasgow's Robroyston area. Monaghan was arrested and charged over the killing but he walked free from court and survived an attempt on his life in 2017,
when he was shot by a gunman after dropping his child off at school in Glasgow's Penilee area. The gang war the force refer to erupted due to a reported fall-out between Mark Richardson
and Dubai-based Mr Big Ross McGill. It has seen a number of incidents on people linked to Edinburgh hood Richardson, with homes, businesses and associates themselves targeted. Incidents
have taken place in Edinburgh, Leith, Glasgow, Bishopbriggs and Bridge of Weir, with firebombings, shootings, and knife attacks over the post few months. Article continues below A number of
people have been arrested and charged by Police Scotland over the carnage, and the investigation into the incidents remains ongoing.
