CATHERINE DE NOIR, 31, IS A BROTHEL MANAGER WITH A BACKGROUND IN ORGANISATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY, AND SHE RECENTLY GAVE AN INSIGHT INTO THE REALITIES OF LEGAL SEX WORK 09:56, 31 May 2025 A woman
in charge of one of Europe's largest legal brothels has divulged the non-negotiable rule upheld at her establishment. With a background in organisational psychology, Catherine De Noir,
31, has delved into her experiences managing a busy brothel in the past, sharing tales of client fantasies and celebrity visits. She gave an exclusive account of her time in the sex work
industry, now aligning with Erobella, Europe's rapidly expanding erotic website. Within the walls of the brothel, she emphasised safety as a crucial concern. According to Catherine,
safeguarding is the "top priority" where multiple measures are in place to ensure that all the working women feel secure. A standout feature for ensuring staff protection is the
presence of panic buttons in each room. These buttons are inconspicuous yet integral to the brothel's emergency procedures. Catherine detailed: "Every worker knows exactly where
the panic button is located in their room, and they are trained on how and when to use it. If a situation becomes uncomfortable, threatening or escalates into an emergency, the worker can
press the button quickly and quietly. "The panic button doesn't make any sound in the room itself, which is deliberate, so the client remains unaware that an alert has been
triggered, preventing the situation from escalating further. However, the moment the button is pressed, a siren sounds in the security office and the room number is displayed immediately on
our monitors. "This allows our trained security team to respond quickly." Article continues below Catherine added: "We operate under what we call the 'eight-second
rule'. This means that, once the panic button is activated, security staff must reach the room within eight seconds. This isn't just a guideline, it's a strict protocol.
"To meet this standard, our team undergoes regular drills and scenario-based training. They practice the fastest routes through the building, locate room keys efficiently and know
exactly which staff members are designated to respond to an incident at any given time." When an alarm is triggered, at least two security guards rush to the room. They then unlock the
door, and immediately assess and de-escalate the situation. Managers are also called in to provide further support and handle any necessary follow-up. Having been working in the industry for
nine years now, she admits she's "seen it all". But, even though you may think nothing surprises her at this point, you couldn't be more wrong. In fact, she admitted
that some things can still "amaze" her. In her line of work, you really do learn something new every day. Catherine recounted how some clients become enamoured with the women they
meet at the brothel, sharing one particular instance of a man who initially visited occasionally, but soon started frequenting the establishment to see a specific worker. He grew so
infatuated that he visited multiple times each week, showering her with lavish gifts and spending thousands monthly until his finances were drained. In a drastic move fuelled by his
obsession, the man sold his house just to maintain the extravagant lifestyle he believed would keep him in her favour. Catherine stressed: "Desperate to continue seeing her and buy her
gifts, he sold his house. Needless to say, she didn't ask him to do so; it was entirely his decision." However, despite being clear it was purely a professional arrangement, and
informing him multiple times, his fixation led him down a path of ruin, culminating in homelessness. Catherine expressed her discomfort with the situation, saying: "This situation made
me feel really uncomfortable - he knew that she was a worker and that this was not, by any means, a relationship. She told him multiple times. Yet, he still chose to do it, and he ended up
being homeless. Article continues below "I truly believe that mature adults are capable of making their own decisions, and even though those decisions might seem stupid or irrational,
it is their choice. However, this was one of the very few cases where I genuinely wanted to intervene."
