watched as a thug stamped on a 16-year-old boy's head during a prolonged attack. Hamilton Sheriff Court heard brutal Shaun Leonard continued the assault despite the lad pleading:
"I'm your pal. Just shake my hand." Leonard, 33, appeared from custody and admitted carrying out the attack in Alness Street, Hamilton, on March 20 last year while on bail for

Android Lewis Devoy, prosecuting, said violence flared around 5pm. Article continues below He told the court: "Leonard and the boy, who are known to each other, were sharing a cigarette
and engaging in conversation. "An argument developed and the accused began to punch the boy on the head. "He pulled him to the ground and kicked him on the head. He continued to
punch the boy, telling him to stop being cheeky. "The accused then stamped repeatedly on his head as he lay on the ground. The boy said 'I'm only 16' and the accused

they tried to intervene, but the accused continued to strike the boy before walking away." The police were alerted and officers arrived to find the boy with minor cuts and bruises to

client's consumption of alcohol and mental health problems that caused him to act aggressively." Sheriff John Speir deferred sentence on Leonard until June 24 and remanded him in
