By JUSTIN ENRIQUEZ and CHRISTINE RENDON FOR DAILYMAIL.COM 06:25 03 Apr 2021, updated 06:57 03 Apr 2021 SHARE OR COMMENT ON THIS ARTICLE: It was reported earlier this week that screenwriter
Diablo Cody quit working on the upcoming Madonna biopic after encountering challenges working the singer, however, that doesn't actually appear to be the case. Entertainment Weekly
confirmed on Friday that the 42-year-old filmmaker Cody did not actually leave the project but instead turned in the final draft and moved on to a new project. A source for the showbiz
publication said that Cody and the 62-year-old pop singer turned in a finished, final draft of the script they had spent months working on throughout 2020. On Thursday, it was reported that
Cody quit working on the upcoming Madonna biopic after encountering challenges working the singer. RELATED ARTICLES According to The Sun, the Jennifer's Body director found Madonna too
difficult to work with as the singer has been 'very particular' over the way her story is told. 'Madonna and Diablo spent weeks working on the screenplay and made good
progress,' a source told the site. 'But Madonna is understandably very particular about how she wants it to be. She's a perfectionist and because it is about her life, she is
being very careful about how things come across. ‘Diablo needed more freedom to be able to make it work and ultimately decided she couldn't contribute any more.' Now Universal
Pictures is reportedly looking for a new writer, knowing this film could be a massive success like Bohemian Rhapsody and Rocketman. However, Madonna isn't going to let a film that
doesn't accurately represent her be made. 'Madonna doesn't need the money and isn't going to let a movie get made which she doesn't feel is authentic to her
experiences,' the insider added. News broke back in September that Madonna would be directing the biopic, with Academy Award winner Diablo co-writing the film with her. SHARE OR COMMENT
