January 2021 | Updated: 16:04 EDT, 27 August 2021 Sir Rod Stewart and his son have reached a plea deal to settle battery charges stemming from an altercation with a security guard at a
luxury Florida hotel on New Year's Eve. On Friday, prosecutors and defense attorneys announced that the 76-year-old rockstar and son, Sean Stewart, 40, would not be going to trial for
the altercation at The Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach on New Year's Eve 2019. The terms of the agreement were not released to the public, but it brings to an end a very public, year-long
legal battle in which Stewart, a member of the RocknRoll Hall of Fame who was knighted by the Queen in 2016, was accused of punching guard Jesse Dixon, 33, in the stomach and performing a
Nazi salute whilst wearing a gold lame jacket. The incident started on New Year's Eve 2019, when security guard Dixon told police that Stewart and his family were at the check-in
table for a private party that they weren't authorized to attend. Dixon said the group became loud and began causing a scene. Dixon told investigators he put his hand on the younger
Stewart's chest and told him to back up and make space, the report said. That's when Sean Stewart, the rock star's 40-year-old son, got 'nose to nose' with Dixon,
he claimed. Footage of the incident, obtained and published exclusively by DailyMail.com several weeks after the fight, revealed that Sir Rod performed what appeared to be a mock Nazi
salute before thumping Dixon. His wife and their two sons, 14-year-old Alastair and Aiden, eight, were standing nearby as the musician, wearing a glittering gold lame jacket, raised his
right arm high above his head and placed his left hand above his mouth - appearing to imitate a moustache. Sean Stewart then shoved Dixon backwards. Rod Stewart punched Dixon in his
'left rib cage area' with a closed fist, a police report said. The police report said Sean Stewart told investigators he became agitated when they were not able to attend the event
'due to Dixon´s interaction with him and his family.' Palm Beach officer Stephen Mancino said he viewed security footage at the hotel and determined that the Stewarts were the
'primary aggressors.' Two Breakers employees who were working the private event told police they saw Sean Stewart push Dixon and Rod Stewart punch the guard. Dixon signed an
affidavit saying that he wanted to press charges against the Stewarts. Stewart married third wife Penny Lancaster back in 2007 and the couple share sons Alastair, 15, and Aiden, nine. He
is also dad to six other children; sons Sean, 40, and Liam, 26, and daughters Kimberly, 41, Ruby, 33, Renee, 28, and Sarah Streeter, 58. Rod Stewart
