Economic advisor, sculptor call on governor

EXCELSIOR CORRESPONDENT SRINAGAR, JULY 11:  Jalil Ahmad Khan, Economic Advisor to the Government, called on N. N. Vohra, Governor, at Raj Bhavan, here today. The Governor and Mr. Khan


discussed issues relating to the mobilization of larger resources for furthering the economic advancement of the State and implementation of various development projects and welfare schemes.


Mr. Khan briefed the Governor about the progress achieved in the past 4 years and the initiatives being taken to secure identified fiscal management targets within envisaged timelines.


Rajender Tiku, a sculptor who is well known all over the country also called on Mr Vohra. During their meeting, the Governor and Mr. Tiku discussed the measures required to be taken for the


promotion of art and aesthetics in Jammu and Kashmir. Mr. Tiku briefed the Governor about the photograph series, “Earth Pictures”, which he is presently working on and about his latest


sculptures. He presented to the Governor two photographs of the “Earth Pictures” series and informed that he is organizing an exhibition of his latest sculptures in New Delhi later this


year. He also informed the Governor about his forthcoming assignment as a Visiting Professor at the Musashino Art University, Tokyo. The Governor suggested to Mr. Tiku to consider exhibiting
