Show MeNo thanks, closeSee ourPrivacy NoticeThe Chase host Bradley Walsh didn't hold back as he issued a stern warning to Chaser Anne "The Governess" Hegerty following her sharp-witted quip that left him shaking his head. On the
Wednesday episode (June 4), four fresh contestants stepped up to challenge The Chaser, eyeing a hefty cash prize.
Simon from Wantage, Kim hailing from Leeds, Londoner Dorett, and Jack from Manchester teamed up, aiming to bag thousands. Simon, a member of the Royal Air Force, sailed through to the second
round with £6,000, but Kim, who's studying nursing, was caught out just in time.
Dorett, the third contestant to take on Anne, shared with Bradley her passion for the theatre, particularly enjoying smaller venues and their shows. However, when it came to facing Anne, The
Governess couldn't resist a dig: "I like small theatres. Especially this one, as it means Bradley can leave quicker."
While the remark had the other contestants chuckling, Bradley could only tut and comment, "That's so unnecessary.", reports the Express. Dorett triumphed in her round and contributed
more funds to the prize pot. Jack also made it through to the final chase, bringing the total prize money to £19,000.
They managed a commendable 17 correct answers, leaving Anne with two minutes to catch them and snatch away their winnings. Anne stumbled on several questions, notably on the state language
of Ukraine.
After incorrectly guessing Russian, she was corrected with Ukrainian, resulting in a setback. In a tense final minute, she incorrectly answered several questions.
With just one second remaining, Anne caught up and snatched their cash prize at the last moment. The Chase is broadcast on weekdays at 5pm on ITV and ITVX.
