A collision between two lorries has led to three lanes of the M6 near Coventry being closed. The incident has been reported by live traffic website Inrix this afternoon (June 3).


It says that three lanes on the M6 northbound have been closed following the accident in between Corley Services and junction 4 and the M42 junction 7. As a result, there is now queueing


traffic.


This, according to the traffic site, is tailing back to the M6 Junction 3 island. It states: "Long delays and three lanes closed due to accident, two lorries involved on M6 Northbound from


Corley Services to J4 M42 J7."

It goes on to add. "Congestion to J3 (Nuneaton / Coventry)." It is not yet known if anyone has been injured.


CoventryLive has contacted emergency services about the collision. This includes West Midlands Ambulance Service.

This is due to a broken down lorry on M6 Northbound at J3 A444 Bedworth bypass (Nuneaton / Coventry).


It is causing queueing traffic.

In an update, National Highways West Midlands has said that recovery is on the scene to move the two lorries.


There are now six miles of congestion causing over 60 minute delays above normal travel time.


Motorists are being urged to find other routes.

There are 30 minute delays now on the M6 northbound following the collision.


It is causing traffic tailbacks heading towards junction 3 and also junction 2 northbound.


Part of the Bedworth bypass is now starting to see heavy traffic due to the impact of the motorway delays on the junction 3 island.

The colour coded Google Traffic map shows an area of red - where traffic is building on the M6 northbound.


It also shows that the traffic is heading back towards the M6 junction 3 island.


So far, it has yet to impact the A444 in Coventry and Nuneaton/Bedworth.

Highways has warned motorists to 'expect delays' in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.


It explains:
