SPANISH MAN SUFFERING SEVERE HYPOTHERMIA AFTER LOSING HIS WAY SKIING IN THE DEUX-ALPES AND GETTING STRANDED FOR TWO DAYS A SKI tourist has miraculously been found alive after two nights
missing in the Alps. The 18-year-old Spanish man was caught out by bad weather in the Deux-Alpes resort in the Isère on Sunday afternoon. According to police, the skier had lost his way in
the fog. He was found, disorientated, sitting less than 500 metres from a road by mountain rescue officers on Tuesday. The man was suffering from severe hypothermia after 44 hours in the
snow, surviving two nights of freezing temperatures. He was taken by helicopter to a hospital in Grenoble. Meanwhile, as the peak winter ski season gets underway, the UK Foreign Office has
launched a campaign warning Brits of the danger of mixing alcohol and skiing. Ads will be displayed prominently in the major French ski resorts. Tourists will also be reminded before setting
off that they need good insurance. Photo:Mawster
