come into bloom.  Provence in south-east France is typically associated with perfumed lavender fields in the summer, however, the commune of La Brillanne (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence) is known

for its rainbow tulip fields in the spring.  The tulip bulbs are bought in the Netherlands and then grown in the south of France before being sent back to the Netherlands or to the Côte

d'Azur Yellow, pink, red, purple… the short but sweet showcase typically lasts about a week, with tulips blossoming from around the end of March to early April each year, before being

cut. Flower fanatics can visit the fields, which are located along the D116 and D4096 departmental roads leading from La Brillanne towards Lurs. Other tulip hotspots in the region include

Jonquières (Vaucluse), where flower fields can be visited from March 29 to April 6, 2025 at the Martin de Grangeneuve domain (2755 Chemin des Platriers) from 10:00 to 19:00. Contact the

  Year on year, the neat rows of coloured blooms attract more visitors, which has had some negative impacts on them. It is important to note that the tulips should be admired from the edge

of the fields. Visitors cannot wander through the alleys or cross fences without permission. Some flower fields offer the opportunity to pick your own tulips from a designated patch of land,
