Great sea views: summer tourist train to launch from nice to milan

DINING CAR AND BAR INCLUDED ONBOARD FOR THE SIX-HOUR TRIP A new ‘tourist train’ run by the Italian rail service will take passengers between Nice and Milan this summer, bringing a touch of

Riviera flair to the travelling experience.  The ‘Espresso Riviera’ service will run from August 4 to September 1, leaving Milan in the morning to arrive in Nice in the early afternoon,

before making the reverse trip in the evening. Each journey takes around six hours. Tickets start from €44.50, and there will be a dining carriage on the train for passengers to eat onboard,

as well as a bar and storage for bikes. First class tickets start from €59.50.  Tickets will go on sale from July 20, and can be purchased through the Trenitalia app or online here, and you

can find the timetables for the trip here (in Italian).  Much of the train’s route is along the Ligurian coast between Nice and Genoa, allowing passengers to take in the stunning scenery in

operator), which includes the launch of more overnight trains and ‘tourist’ routes.  From September 1 to September 29, the route will run between Milan and Ventimiglia (Vintimille) on the
