CONNEXION READER SAYS PEOPLE SHOULD WASH CLOTHES LESS OFTEN TO HELP SAVE WATER To the Editor, The advice to ‘wear the same T-shirt for four or five days’ did not wash well with everyone. I
think this is a brilliant initiative for getting the info out there. We very much need to move towards a conservation mindset rather than a consumerist one. And after all, in the same
issue, we read how departments such as Ariège are (still) on drought alert in February. We only buy natural materials, recycled when possible, and they also have better ‘wicking’ properties
than synthetics, meaning they take longer to get smelly. We routinely wear clothes (apart from socks and underwear) for 3 or 4 days, only washing them earlier if we’ve been doing sweaty
work on the land. Shame on the people who fuss about this. What really matters most? Roselle Angwin, Brittany Is cutting down on waste important to you? Do you have any novel ways to do
